What is the ‘Economic Survey’? Today, The Govt present this in Parliament before the budget: Today is an important day ahead of the Union Budget. The government will present the Economic Survey 2026 in Parliament on Thursday, January 29. The report reviews the performance of the Indian economy over the past year and highlights key challenges and future priorities.
The survey covers major indicators such as GDP growth, inflation, employment, trade, and business activity. It helps set the direction for government policies and provides the economic background for the Union Budget.
The Budget Session has already begun with President Droupadi Murmu’s address, and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present her ninth consecutive Union Budget on February 1. This will be the third full budget of the Modi government’s third term.
Prepared annually by the Ministry of Finance, the Economic Survey has been presented separately from the Budget since 1964 to give Parliament and the public a clear picture of the economy in advance.
