Now Vande Bharat Trains Will Serve Local Delicacies to Passengers, The Railway Minister gave instructions to the officials
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw held a review meeting with officials at Rail Bhavan on Saturday. Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing Industries, Ravneet Singh Bittu, was also present at the meeting. The Union Minister instructed officials to make local delicacies from the respective regions available on Vande Bharat trains.
Introducing local cuisine will significantly enhance the passenger experience, as it will offer a taste of the local culture and flavors during the journey. This initiative, starting with Vande Bharat trains, will be gradually extended to all trains in the future.
Food on Vande Bharat Trains in the North is Almost Identical: Passengers traveling on Vande Bharat trains in the North are currently being served almost the same food. However, Vande Bharat trains operating in the South offer local cuisine such as idli, vada, kesari, sambar, upma, medu vada, pongal, etc.
The Union Minister also stated that, the Indian Railways’ crackdown on train ticket bookings through fake identities is yielding excellent results. After the implementation of a stringent system to establish user identities and detect fake IDs, approximately 5000 new user IDs are being created daily on the IRCTC website. Before the new reforms, the number of new user IDs created daily on the IRCTC website had reached approximately one lakh.
