The domestic stock market closed higher on Tuesday
Stock Market Highlights: Sensex jumps 174 points, Nifty also rises: The domestic stock market closed with gains on Tuesday. The Sensex rose 173.81 points or 0.21% to close at 83,450.96, while the Nifty 50 rose 42.65 points or 0.17% to close at 25,725.40. This gain was largely due to the BSE 150 Midcap index rising 0.31%, while the BSE 250 Smallcap index jumped 0.86%. The market was also supported by some big stocks like ITC, BEL and Infosys. Last Monday, the Sensex had closed at 83,277.15, up 650.39 points, while the Nifty had closed at 25,682.75, up 211.65 points.
Investors made big gains in a single day: Investor wealth increased by more than ₹1 lakh crore as the total market capitalization of BSE-listed companies rose to nearly ₹470 lakh crore from around ₹468.6 lakh crore in the previous session.
Key Gainers:
ITC, Bharat Electronics Limited, Larsen & Toubro, Infosys, Asian Paints, Titan, Adani Ports, HCL Technologies, Sun Pharmaceuticals, Maruti Suzuki India, IndiGo, State Bank of India, and Tech Mahindra were the key gainers on the Sensex.
Declining Stocks:
On the other hand, shares of Eternal, Tata Steel, Trent, Reliance Industries, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj Finserv, Axis Bank, Bharti Airtel, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Hindustan Unilever closed with losses on the Sensex.
