In the international market, silver reached a new record high of $119 per ounce for the first time. It then saw a slight dip and was trading at $117 per ounce, which is about 3.5% higher than the previous day’s closing price. This surge is largely attributed to the US Federal Reserve’s decision not to change interest rates.
In India, too, silver made history. On January 29, the price of silver on the MCX crossed ₹4 lakh per kilogram for the first time. At around 9:44 AM, it was trading at ₹4,02,792 per kilogram, which is 4.5 percent higher than the previous closing price.
