Silver Rates Surge 3% in Domestic and Global Markets: Silver prices rose on February 13. On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), silver contracts for March delivery futures jumped nearly 3% from their previous close to a high of ₹243,699 per kilogram. A day earlier, silver prices remained steady at ₹268,500 per kilogram in the national capital’s bullion market. Silver crossed the ₹4 lakh-per-kilogram mark in the domestic market in January.
Good US job data has dampened expectations of a key interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve in the near term. Job growth in the US accelerated sharply in January, and the unemployment rate fell to 4.3%. Investors are now awaiting the release of inflation data.
Silver rates: Looking at the international market, Reuters reports that the spot price of silver has risen 2.5% to $77.02 per ounce. A day earlier, on Thursday, silver prices fell 11% in the global market. Experts say that silver holds long-term promise, but short-term volatility is likely. Therefore, investors should avoid investing large sums at once.
