SBI increases ATM Transaction fees, Know details
SBI ATM Transaction Fees: There’s bad news for customers of India’s largest public sector bank, SBI. State Bank of India has increased its ATM transaction charges. With this new change, customers will now have to pay higher fees for ATM transactions. State Bank of India stated that the increase in ATM transaction fees is due to an increase in interchange fees. It’s worth noting that SBI had previously increased ATM transaction fees in February 2025. This fee increase by SBI will make using Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) and Automated Deposit cum Withdrawal Machines (ADWMs) more expensive.
New Fees Effective from December 1, 2025: SBI has announced that the increased fees have been implemented from December 1, 2025, and will affect savings and salary account holders who use ATMs of other banks. However, some specific categories of account holders will not be affected by this new decision. The bank stated that there is no change in the monthly free transaction limit.
Now Pay Rs. 23 Instead of Rs. 21: SBI savings account customers can make 5 financial and non-financial transactions free of charge every month at other banks’ ATMs. After the monthly free transaction limit, each cash withdrawal will now cost Rs. 23 instead of Rs. 21, along with applicable GST. Additionally, after the monthly free non-financial transaction limit, each transaction will now cost Rs. 11 instead of Rs. 10, plus GST.
Fixed Limit for SBI ATMs as Well: State Bank of India has fixed a limit of 10 free ATM transactions per month for both financial and non-financial transactions at all its ATMs, which was previously unlimited. Now, after the monthly free transaction limit is exhausted, each cash withdrawal will cost Rs. 23 plus GST, which was previously free. Similarly, each non-financial transaction after the monthly free transaction limit will cost Rs. 11 plus GST. There is no change in the existing service charges for SBI’s Basic Savings Bank Deposit (BSBD) accounts.
