PM Modi to inspect bullet train project on November 15, trial to begin in 2027
Bullet Train Project: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will review the construction work of the country’s first bullet train corridor being built between Ahmedabad and Mumbai. For the first time, PM Modi will reach the ground to review this bullet train project and see the work closely. Under the first phase of this 508 km long corridor being built between Ahmedabad in Gujarat and Mumbai, trials are likely to start in December 2027 on the Surat-Bilimora section.
Work is underway day and night on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Bullet Train Project. Construction of the Vishwamitri River bridge in Gujarat’s Vadodara district has been completed. This is the 17th of 21 river bridges to be completed in Gujarat for the project. The 80-meter-long bridge is located near the Western Railway’s Vadodara-Surat main line. The bridge has three piers, one in the riverbed and two on each side. It’s worth noting that the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train corridor has a total of 25 river bridges, 21 in Gujarat and four in Maharashtra.
In July of this year, construction of the first 2.7-kilometer section of the 21-kilometer undersea tunnel between Ghansoli and Shilphata in Maharashtra was completed. In September, excavation of the 4.88-kilometer tunnel between Shilphata and Ghansoli was also completed. In addition, work on laying tracks, overhead electrical wiring, stations, and bridges for the bullet train is progressing rapidly.
