₹6,088 Crore Boost for Farmers Under Samruddha Kisan Yojana
Odisha Budget 2026-27: 6,088 crores allocated for Samruddha Kisan Yojana:Mohan Charan Majhi presented the state budget for the financial year 2026–27 in the Assembly on February 20, outlining a comprehensive financial plan of ₹3.10 lakh crore. A significant focus of this year’s budget is the advancement of agriculture and the overall welfare of farmers across Odisha.
Emphasizing the government’s commitment to strengthening the rural economy, the Chief Minister stated that agriculture remains the backbone of the state. The budget prioritizes modernisation of farming practices through the adoption of advanced technology and increased mechanisation. Alongside this, a broad support framework has been introduced to enhance farmers’ incomes and ensure their long-term economic empowerment.
The government aims to boost the cultivation and consumption of nutritious grains, promote sustainable farming practices, and create better market linkages for agricultural produce. By reinforcing rural infrastructure and providing targeted financial assistance, the state envisions building a prosperous, self-reliant future for every farming family in Odisha.
Key Allocations for Agriculture Sector (2026–27):
-₹6,088 crore has been allocated for the Samruddha Kisan Yojana to provide direct support and strengthen farmers’ financial stability.
-₹20,230 crore has been earmarked for the PM Kisan Yojana to ensure income assistance reaches eligible farmers efficiently.
-₹841 crore has been set aside for Agricultural Mechanisation and the promotion of agri-industries, encouraging the use of modern equipment and value-added agricultural enterprises.
-₹400 crore has been allocated for the Shri Anna Abhiyan to promote the cultivation and consumption of millets and other nutritious grains, supporting both farmers’ incomes and public health.
