Odisha Budget: ₹30 crores for Shri Jagannath Darshan Yojana, ₹400 crores for Shri Anna Yojana: Mohan Charan Majhi presented the Odisha Budget 2026–27 in the Assembly, unveiling a massive outlay of ₹3.10 lakh crore, significantly higher than last year, reflecting the state’s steady economic growth. Remembering Lord Jagannath, the Chief Minister made several major announcements focused on the Shrimandir and devotees.

Key allocations include ₹30 crore for the Shri Jagannath Darshan Yojana and ₹400 crore for the Shri Anna Yojana. ₹5 crore has been set aside for reopening the Ratna Bhandar and another ₹5 crore for conducting its census. The government has also earmarked ₹1,000 crore for the Shri Jagannath Museum and Library Centre. Additionally, a proposal for an online digital hundi named ‘Samrpana’ has been introduced for the temple.

Out of the total budget, ₹1.80 lakh crore has been allocated for programme expenditure. The highest share – ₹25,003.32 crore – goes to Agriculture, Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, and Drinking Water. Health services will receive ₹17,736.93 crore, education ₹15,849.30 crore, and Women & Child Development ₹16,122.93 crore.

The budget is expected to strengthen Odisha’s economic progress while also promoting its spiritual and cultural heritage, especially the rich Jagannath tradition.
