Blinkit: You can add more items to the cart even after ordering
Quick-commerce platform Blinkit has launched a new feature that allows customers to add items to their cart even after placing an order. The company’s CEO, Albinder Dhindsa, shared this information on Wednesday. “New update on Blinkit: You can now add more items after placing an order. Many of you asked for this, and now we’ve made it possible to add more items while packing your order. There are no additional delivery charges, and you won’t need to place a second order just because you missed something,” Dhindsa posted on X.
He also urged users to share suggestions and wrote, “If you think we can improve this, please share your feedback with me.” This feature allows customers to add products while the original order is still being packed in the warehouse, eliminating the need to check out a second time and avoiding additional delivery charges.
This is Blinkit’s second major product update in the past few months. In August, Blinkit became India’s first quick-commerce app to introduce parental controls.
This feature allows users to hide age-restricted categories, such as sexual wellness and nicotine, by entering a six-digit PIN. After entering the PIN, the app also hides search results and purchase history related to those categories. If someone attempts to change these settings, the app immediately alerts the user.
This product change by Blinkit also reflects its larger journey. Launched in 2013 as Grofers, the company initially partnered with local stores to offer on-demand delivery. Later, it developed its own network of dark stores for faster delivery.
