Indigo will compensate passengers
Indigo Crisis: Indigo has announced compensation for passengers affected by the flight cancellations. CNBC-Awaaz’s Rohan Singh provided full details. Indigo will provide compensation for the cancelled flights, he said. A refund of ₹5,000-₹10,000 will be given for cancelled tickets.
Affected passengers will also receive additional vouchers worth ₹10,000. The travel vouchers will be valid for one year. To claim this compensation, passengers need to email the company at customer.experience@goindigo.in.
This compensation is in addition to the compensation provided under government guidelines. According to government guidelines, customers whose flights were cancelled within 24 hours of departure time will also receive compensation ranging from 5,000 to 10,000 rupees, based on the flight’s block time.
IndiGo shared this information on the social media platform X. IndiGo stated that some of their customers travelling on December 3rd, 4th, and 5th were stranded at certain airports for several hours, and many were severely affected by the resulting congestion.
