Gross Domestic Revenue Declined By 2.3 Percent To Over Rs 1.24 Lakh Crore in November 2025

In November 2025, gross GST (Goods & Services Tax) collections in India rose 0.7 percent year-on-year to ₹1.70 lakh crore, according to government data released on 1st December. Gross GST collections in November 2024 were over ₹1.69 lakh crore. In October 2025, gross GST collections in India rose 4.6 percent year-on-year to ₹1.96 lakh crore.

Gross domestic revenue declined by 2.3 percent to over ₹1.24 lakh crore in November 2025. This decline came after a reduction in GST rates. Revenue from imports of goods increased by 10.2 percent to ₹45,976 crore in November.

New GST rates on 375 items, ranging from kitchenware to electronics and automobiles, came into effect from 22nd September, 2025. Under GST 2.0, there are now only 5 percent and 18 percent rates. The 12 percent and 28 percent slabs have been abolished. There is a special rate of 40 percent for sin goods and luxury items. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced the reduction in GST rates before Diwali in his Independence Day speech on 15th August.
