Government gives update on 8th Pay Commission in Rajya Sabha, Know the details: Central government employees and pensioners are eagerly awaiting the 8th Pay Commission. Meanwhile, an important update has emerged regarding the 8th Pay Commission for central government employees. In response to a question in the Rajya Sabha, the government stated that the Commission has already been formally constituted. Its notification was issued on November 3, 2025.
The Finance Ministry also clarified in a written response on Tuesday that the Commission will submit its recommendations within the stipulated timeframe. Rajya Sabha MPs had asked the government which issues the 8th Pay Commission would review and when its recommendations would be implemented.
Government Information: Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary informed the Rajya Sabha that the government will review the salaries, allowances, and pension conditions of employees and pensioners under the 8th Pay Commission. He further stated that the Commission will submit its recommendations within the stipulated timeframe.
The Commission has been given 18 months to submit its report, which clearly indicates that the Commission will submit its report to the government in 2027. Further action will be taken by the government only after the recommendations are received. This means that central government employees may have to wait a long time for the 8th Pay Commission.
