Donald Trump increases tariffs again after court ruling, Know details: US President Donald Trump made a major announcement on Saturday. He announced that the reciprocal tariff imposed on all foreign goods entering the US would be increased from 10% to 15%. This announcement came after the US Supreme Court dealt a major blow to President Donald Trump on Friday regarding the tariff issue.
Displeased with the Supreme Court’s decision, Trump issued an order on Friday to immediately impose an additional 10% tariffon all imported goods, in addition to the existing tariffs. Foreign goods will now be subject to higher taxes than before. The law under which this decision was made allows the President to impose a maximum tax of 15% for 150 days. However, Trump’s move may face further legal challenges.
Trump drops another tariff bomb: In a post on the social media platform Truth Social, he wrote that, as President of the United States, he would immediately increase the 10% reciprocal tariff to 15%. He stated that many countries had been taking advantage of the United States for decades, and he believes this situation is now being reversed. Trump clarified that this 15% tariff is fully legally approved and has been legally vetted. Announcing the new rate, he stated that he would use the full 15% limit provided by law. He also stated that his administration would work to develop new, legally approved tariff rules within the stipulated 150-day period.
