30 November 2025 Deadlines: Finish these 3 tasks
30 November 2025 Deadline: As the last week of November begins, deadlines for many important tasks have also arrived. These include submitting life certificates for pension payments, tax-related forms, and the UPS option for central government employees. Failure to complete these tasks on time could result in pensions being withheld, financial processes being stalled, or even penalties being imposed. Therefore, it’s crucial to complete all these deadlines before November ends.
The deadline for central government employees to join the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) is November 30, 2025. The government originally set this deadline as September 30, but has extended it by two months to the end of November. The UPS is distinct from the New Pension System (NPS) and has fixed contributions from both employees and the government.
Last date for UPS: Under UPS, employees contribute 10% of their basic salary and DA, while the government contributes 18.5%. This system differs from the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), under which employees received a pension of 50% of their last basic pay without any contribution. Therefore, employees who wish to opt for the new scheme must decide by November 30th.
The deadline for submitting a Life Certificate: November 30th, is an important date for pensioners. Like every year, they will need to submit a Life Certificate to ensure continued pension payments. However, senior citizens aged 80 and above can submit the certificate starting October 1st.
There are several ways to submit a life certificate, through a bank, CSC center, government office, or mobile/PC app. India Post Payments Bank’s (IPPB) Doorstep Life Certificate Service has made this process even easier. Pensioners can obtain a digital life certificate from the comfort of their homes.
Tax-Related Forms: November 30th is also the deadline for submitting several tax-related forms and statements. TDS challan-cum-statement under Sections 194-IA, 194-IB, 194M, and 194S for October 2025 must be submitted by this date. Taxpayers with international or domestic transactions covered under Section 92E must also file their ITR by this date. Indian units of international companies must also file Form 3CEAA for the financial year 2024–25 by November 30th.
