Budget’s Big Bet on Infrastructure, MSMEs to Gain: Sitharaman: Responding to the budget debate in Parliament on Wednesday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated that the government’s focus is heavily on infrastructure. The budget announcements will significantly benefit micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), she added. The youth will benefit from the skill development announcements. The Finance Minister also stated that the government will promote medical tourism, which includes AYUSH.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated, “I am pleased to say that based on the recommendations of the state finance ministers who met with me before the budget was prepared, which is a normal calendar event, as I meet with state finance ministers before every budget, and based on their recommendations, the capital expenditure support we provide, a 50-year interest-free loan, will ultimately be equivalent to a grant.”

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said that students should no longer have to look for a separate path to acquire skills after completing their education. Skill development can be made a part of education, so that students can move directly towards entrepreneurship after completing their studies, she said. Sitharaman explained that we have said that instead of looking for skills after completing education, they can be included in the education itself. When students come out of this, they will be able to say that they can become entrepreneurs. And such a mega center can be established near an industrial cluster in any state.
