Bank Holiday on 14 January, Makar Sankranti: Every year, people get confused about whether banks are open or closed on Makar Sankranti. Because of this confusion, many people visit banks and face problems. This year, people are asking whether banks will be closed on 14 January or not.
According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday list, banks will not be closed all over the country on 14 January. The bank holiday is only for some selected states.
Banks will be closed on 14 January in the following states:
-Gujarat
-Odisha
-Assam
-Arunachal Pradesh
In these states, bank branches will remain closed, and customers will not be able to use counter services. They will have to wait for the next working day.
Banks will remain open in all other states, and normal banking work will continue without any problem.
Even in states where banks are closed, digital banking services like UPI, net banking, mobile banking, ATMs, and online transactions will work normally. People can still withdraw cash, transfer money, and pay bills using these services.
