The month of December, which includes major festivals and celebrations like Christmas and New Year’s Eve, features several bank holidays. In the coming week, starting Monday, 22nd December, banks in different states across the country will be closed for six out of seven days. Banks in two states will be closed for five consecutive days this week. This week, when will banks be closed in which states?
December 22 – All banks will be closed in Sikkim on the occasion of Losoong/Namsoong.
December 24 – All banks will be closed in Mizoram, Nagaland, and Meghalaya on Christmas Eve.
December 25 – All banks will be closed across the country on Christmas Day.
December 26 – All banks will be closed in Mizoram, Nagaland, and Meghalaya for Christmas celebrations.
December 27 – All banks will be closed in Nagaland for Christmas celebrations.
December 27 – All banks across the country will be closed on the fourth Saturday of the month.
December 28 – All banks across the country will be closed due to Sunday.
Banks will be closed for 5 consecutive days in these states: Banks in the northeastern states will have long holidays in December. In Mizoram and Nagaland, banks will be closed for 5 consecutive days from December 24 to 28. Similarly, banks in Meghalaya will also be closed for 5 consecutive days from December 24 to 28. Banks will reopen on the 29th and then be closed again on the 30th. December 27 is the fourth Saturday of the month, and December 28 is a Sunday. The remaining days are holidays due to local festivals and occasions.
