“Digital Gold Is Risky,” SEBI States in Press Release

SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) alert to investors for gold platforms. Digital gold platforms allow investors to invest in low amount facilities, till from only rupees 10 in gold investment. The market regulator has stated that these platforms are not regulated, making investing through them risky.

Digital gold is not under the SEBI regulations:  About this issue, SEBI discusses in a statement. According to this statement, digital gold platform securities are not regulated under market frameworks. So, these investments are not safe. SEBI discussed this issue on 8th nov through the press release. SEBI said, some digital or online platforms offer investors to invest in ‘ digital gold or e-gold products’.

Investing in ‘digital gold’ is risky: Market regulators have said that these types of digital gold products are different from SEBI-regulated gold products. This is not notified as securities. In this statement, these products are completely done out of SEBI. Investing in these digital products is risky for investors.

Again, SEBI alerted investors and said, investing in this type of digital gold or e-gold products under the securities market’s regulations does not give protection to investors. Many online platforms are coming into the market to see investors’ interest in this. Nowadays, many platforms allow investment in digital gold.
