Updating Aadhaar is now easier
UIDAI has issued the new list of documents for easy Aadhaar update and the new enrollment process. Earlier, people were facing many problems in making an Aadhaar or updating it. But now, it is easy for people. According to the new list, UIDAI has cleared valued documents for POA(proof of address), DOB(proof of Date of birth), and POR (proof of relationship).
Additionally, a PAN card is also valid for name verification, as it clearly states the name. A Voter ID (EPIC card) contains both a name and a photo, so it can also be used for a name change. Driver’s licenses, government IDs, and marriage certificates are also accepted.
Changing Address in Aadhaar: The list of documents required for updating your address in Aadhaar is lengthy. A passport, a bank passbook, or a bank statement is valid, provided the passbook is updated. Electricity, water, and gas bills are also accepted, but they must not be older than three months.
For tenants, the most important document required is a rent agreement, along with police verification or a notarized document. Additionally, a voter ID card (updated EPIC), ration card, house tax, or property tax receipt is also valid for address updates.
Updating the Date of Birth (DOB) in Aadhaar: Valid documents for updating the date of birth include a birth certificate, passport, and 10th-12th grade marksheets. A PAN card is also valid, but only a physical PAN. E-PAN is not accepted. A government identity card is also valid if the DOB is clearly written on it.
Updating Aadhaar is now easier: According to UIDAI’s new rules, if a person has a single document containing a photo, name, and address, it will be considered both a PoI and a PoA. Previously, two separate documents were required; now, just one will suffice.
Be it changing the name, updating the address, correcting the date of birth, or adding a relative, now the update is possible easily by showing the correct documents.
