Gold and silver prices fell sharply the day after the budget announcement: Gold prices declined sharply in the domestic futures market on Monday, February 2. The gold futures contract expiring on February 5, 2026, opened at ₹1,39,868 (per 10 grams) on the Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX). On the last trading day, gold had closed at ₹1,42,510 on the MCX.

At 10:00 AM on February 2, the February 5th expiry gold contract was trading at ₹1,35,589 on the MCX, representing a drop of approximately ₹6,900 from the previous day’s closing price. The MCX gold contract had reached a high of ₹1,41,085 in early trading.

On MCX, silver with a March 5, 2026 expiry was trading at ₹2,48,875 (per kg), showing a decline of approximately ₹16,700 from the previous day’s closing price. MCX silver had reached a high of ₹2,67,501 in early trading. Let’s find out the current gold and silver rates in your city today…
