Budget 2026: ₹10,000 crore for biopharmaceuticals, ₹40,000 crore for semiconductors
Budget 2026 LIVE UPDATE: The Finance Minister is making major announcements: Today in the budget session. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting the budget. Our focus will be on biopharmaceuticals. We are allocating ₹10,000 crore. Three new institutions will be established. Currently, we have seven institutions, which will be further upgraded, said the financial minister.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the government is working to make India a semiconductor hub. ₹40,000 crore has been allocated for the semiconductor sector.
MSMEs are crucial partners in the path of development. We want to nurture them like champions. We are providing ₹10,000 crore for this purpose so that entrepreneurs can benefit, said the finance minister in her speech.
Rare Earth Minerals Corridor Announced:
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced that a Rare Earth Corridor will be established in Odisha, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu. In addition, three dedicated chemical parks will also be set up.
