New Rules from February 1st, 2026: ICICI Bank has announced major changes for its credit card users
ICICI Bank Credit Card: Several benefits will change from 1st February: ICICI Bank has announced significant changes for its credit card users. These new rules will come into effect from February 1, 2026. These changes will particularly impact those who use their credit cards for movie tickets, transportation, insurance, online gaming, and wallet recharges. Some benefits will continue, but many features will either be discontinued or will incur increased charges.
Free Movie Tickets on BookMyShow Discontinued: ICICI Bank has clarified that the complimentary BookMyShow movie ticket benefit, available on some select credit cards, will be discontinued from February 1, 2026. This benefit will no longer be available on these cards.

-Now, these cards will no longer offer free or discounted movie tickets as before.
Changes in Reward Points on Transportation Expenses: For customers who use their credit cards for cab, metro, railway, or other transportation expenses, the bank has set a new limit. Premium cards like Rubyx, Sapphiro, and Emeralde will earn reward points on transportation expenses up to ₹20,000 per month.
Regular and Mid-Segment Cards:
-Reward points will be earned on transport expenses up to ₹10,000 per month.
-No points will be earned on expenses exceeding this limit.
-Relief on Insurance Payments
There’s good news for ICICI Bank HPCL Super Saver Credit Card users. Reward points will continue to be earned on insurance premium payments up to ₹40,000, as before. This means there has been no reduction in this category.
Charges Now Applicable on Online Gaming:
If you use your credit card to add money to online gaming platforms such as Dream11, MPL, Rummy Culture, etc., it will now be more expensive. A 2% charge will be applied to every transaction starting January 15, 2026. This charge will also apply to other similar gaming platforms that may emerge in the future.
Loading third-party wallets will become more expensive: Now, adding money to wallets like Paytm, Amazon Pay, PhonePe, MobiKwik, Freecharge, and OlaMoney using a credit card will also be more expensive. A 1% fee will be charged for adding amounts of ₹5,000 or more to these wallets.
Fees on higher spending in the transport category: If a customer spends more than ₹50,000 in the transport category in a month, a 1% charge will be applied to the excess amount.
What’s important for customers to understand?
Some previous benefits are now being discontinued. Limits have been placed on reward points for certain expenses. Charges are increasing on digital and high-risk transactions (such as gaming). If you use your credit card frequently, be sure to check the new terms and conditions of your card.
