Sensex Ends 324 Points Lower, Nifty Slips 109 Amid Broad Selling
Markets Close in the Red: Sensex Down 324, Nifty Loses 109 Points: The stock market continued its losing streak on Monday. Both benchmark indices closed in the red for the day. The BSE Sensex fell 324.17 points (0.39%) to close at 83,246.18, while the NSE Nifty 50 dropped 108.85 points (0.42%) to end at 25,585.50. The market opened lower and remained under pressure throughout the session.
Most stocks ended lower. Fourteen of the 30 Sensex stocks closed in the red, while 31 of the 50 Nifty stocks finished lower. IndiGo emerged as the top gainer on the Sensex, rising 4.30%, while Reliance Industries led the losses, falling 3.04%.
Several stocks posted gains during the session. Tech Mahindra, Hindustan Unilever, Bajaj Finance, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Maruti Suzuki, Trent, ITC, HCL Tech, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finserv, BEL, L&T, Sun Pharma, Power Grid, and Tata Steel closed higher.
On the losing side, ICICI Bank, Eternal, Titan, Adani Ports, TCS, UltraTech Cement, NTPC, Infosys, Bharti Airtel, SBI, HDFC Bank, Asian Paints, and Mahindra & Mahindra ended the day lower.
