VinFast Crosses 1,000 Electric Car Sales in India: Vietnamese electric vehicle maker VinFast has crossed the milestone of selling 1,000 electric cars in India. Within just four months, the company achieved this mark, highlighting a strong entry into the Indian EV market. To support this growth, VinFast expanded its sales network, service centers, and charging infrastructure across the country.

VinFast Sales Grow Strongly in Early 2026: VinFast sold over 200 electric cars in early 2026, making it the fourth major electric car brand in India after Tata Motors, JSW MG Motor, and Mahindra Electric.Earlier, in 2025, the company sold around 830 electric cars within three months.

India Electric Car Market Continues to Grow: At the same time, India’s electric car market has expanded rapidly. Over the past two years, annual electric car sales increased from 82,286 units in 2023 to 176,000 units in 2025. Consequently, sales are becoming more concentrated among a few leading electric vehicle manufacturers.

VinFast Entered India with VF6 and VF7 SUVs: VinFast entered the Indian market in September 2025 with the launch of the VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs. JMK Research says new EV brands are now seeing steady sales and growing visibility in India.

Right Pricing Helps VinFast Gain Early Buyers: VinFast has priced the VF6 and VF7 between ₹16 lakh and ₹25 lakh. Because this range represents the most active segment of India’s electric passenger vehicle market, it has attracted private buyers. In addition, this pricing bridges the gap between mass-market EVs and premium imported models.

Local Manufacturing Supports Competitive Pricing: To strengthen its position, VinFast operates an electric vehicle assembly plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. Initially, the plant has a capacity of 50,000 vehicles per year, which can later expand to 150,000 units. Therefore, local manufacturing helps reduce costs and supports competitive pricing.

Rapid Expansion of Dealerships and Service Centers: Finally, within four months of launch, VinFast opened over 25 dealerships and 80 service centers across several Indian cities. As a result, this rapid expansion has improved customer reach and reinforced VinFast’s presence in the Indian electric vehicle market.
