ICICI Bank Credit Card Rules Change: At the beginning of the new year, many financial rules have changed. At the same time, some changes are going to happen in the coming days. In this sequence, the second-largest private bank in the country, ICICI Bank, has announced changes in its credit card rules. These changes are scheduled to come into force from 15 January 2026. These include rules related to reward points, transaction fees, and other features. Let’s know about them in detail.

New rules for entertainment offers: ICICI Bank has fixed the spending limit to avail the offers available on BookMyShow. You need to spend at least Rs 25,000 in the last quarter to avail these offers.

Exchange Rules for Emerald Metal Card and Add-on Card: The bank has also changed the ICICI Bank Emerald Metal Credit Card. Now, cardholders will continue to get 6 reward points for every Rs 200 spent on retail transactions. But no reward points will be earned on expenses like government services, fuel, property management, rent, tax payments, and third-party wallet loads. Also, if you are planning to get an add-on card for any of your family members, you will have to pay a one-time fee of Rs 3,500 for the new add-on card issued after January 15, 2026.

Gaming and wallet transactions are expensive: Private banks have also made online gaming and wallet transactions more expensive. Now, Dream11 will charge an extra fee of 2% on transactions made on gaming platforms like Rummy Culture and MPL. Also, if you load Rs 5,000 or more into a third-party wallet like Amazon Pay or Paytm, you will have to pay a 1% transaction fee. At the same time, if you pay your credit card bill through cash at a bank branch, you will now have to pay a charge of Rs 150 per transaction instead of Rs 100.

Changes in DCC Rules: ICICI Bank has also changed the dynamic currency conversion fees on foreign travel or shopping through international websites. Banks have fixed different rates for different cards. This fee will be 1.49% for the Times Black card, while it is fixed at 2% for most cards in the Emerald series. At the same time, it is the lowest for MakeMyTrip travel cardholders at 0.99%, but the highest fee for MakeMyTrip Signature and Platinum cardholders is 3.50%. The rate is set at 1.99% on the Amaze Pay ICICI Card.
