Silver prices continue to rise; Know 8th January silver rate

Today’s (8th January) Silver Rate

Silver Rate: On January 8, silver prices showed a slight increase. The spot price of silver in the international market was $78.27 per ounce, 0.10% higher than the previous closing price. However, every week, silver has registered a gain of approximately 7.69% over the past week, clearly indicating positive investor sentiment.

In the domestic market, the price of 999 purity silver on MCX was ₹2,51,146 per kilogram. This represents a 0.22% increase compared to the previous closing price of ₹2,50,605. Earlier, on January 7th, silver had also touched a high of ₹2,59,692 per kilogram, indicating continued volatility in the market.

According to a report released by Augmont Bullion on January 7th, this strength in precious metals is being driven by safe-haven demand. Recent developments involving the US and Venezuela have increased global uncertainty, leading investors to seek refuge in safe-haven assets like gold and silver. Additionally, expectations of an interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve have increased following weak manufacturing data in the US.

There was not much difference in silver prices across major cities in the country. Only minor variations were observed due to local taxes, jeweler margins, and logistics costs. Overall, silver prices are currently being supported by global uncertainty and expectations regarding interest rates.
